Data security
Because of a number of data security violations, the legislator was forced to tighten the BDSG (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz). Businesses that deal with personal information/data, must, under certain circumstances, appoint a data security delegate. Examples for personal information/data are: Employee records, customer information/data, credit history/relating information. The internal data security delegate (DSB) has to cover an extensive field and answers directly and exclusively to the management. Since the amendment of the BDSG, the internal data security delegate is protected from lay-off/suspension. It is also possible to appoint an external data security delegate.
